The Associate Degree in Business
The Associate Degree in Business is designed to meet the requirements of an AQF level 6 qualification. For students, who for various reasons are not able to complete the full degree, the option of exiting the Associate Degree with a Diploma (Level 5) is available. Students who have already taken courses up to the Diploma level with Foundation Education, or in fact any provider,may find the Associate Degree a valuable pathway to further studies. Once students have completed this course they will have the opportunity to use the credit points accrued to advance through to the Bachelor of Business (Management).
The Associate Degree in Business is a 16-subject course, conducted in four trimesters and designed to be completed full-time and under maximum study load in up to 1.5 years. Candidature under a part-time or reduced-load enrolment mode can be completed 3 years. The course consists of 9 core business subjects, 4 management specialisation subjects and 3 elective subjects which allow students to customise the course to suit their interests..
The Diploma aims to produce work-ready graduates who have acquired a fundamental understanding of contemporary business practice. It introduces a range of business and management functions through core subjects covering management, economics, accounting, marketing, data analysis, information systems, and business law. It also offers graduates the opportunity to develop their verbal and written communication and interpretation skills through a subject in business communication.
